March 4, 2026 - NEWSLETTER

Panther Families,

Last week, I met with a group of students from our Student Advisory Council to talk about the end of the trimester. They shared the mix of emotions they’re experiencing during this transition. Some are wrapping up certifications in their courses. Some can’t believe they are entering their final trimester of high school, and others will continue with the same year-long classes for a third trimester in a row. Their reflections were a powerful reminder that each student experiences the end of a trimester in a very different way.

Spring break for students runs from Friday, March 6 through Monday, March 16. We will welcome students back on Tuesday, March 17 to kick off the final trimester. Students shared that this break is one of their favorite times to reset and prepare for a strong finish. I hope each of our students has some time to slow down.

If your student’s schedule needs attention prior to the start of the trimester, please be sure to reach out to their counselor.

As we head into break, thank you to everyone who participated in Panthers for a Purpose: Week of Giving last week. We are incredibly grateful for the support of our community and for the many ways the Panther Foundation helps create meaningful experiences for our students.

Proud to be a Panther,

Megan Jahnke

Panthers for a Purpose raises $145k

The Panther Foundation’s annual Week of Giving and Panther Party raised $145,000 and counting to support activities and programs benefiting the students of Spring Lake Park Schools.

The Week of Giving, February 22-28, 2026, brought out the Panther Pride. There were themed spirit wear days, dine to donate opportunities in partnership with local restaurants, and a silent auction with more than 350 packages. The silent auction alone raised more than $31,000 and included more than 294 bidders from all over the district and even friends, relatives and supporters in other states.

While the party may be over, the giving isn’t. There is still time to donate – and specifically for this year’s Fund-A-Dream project, Career and College Pathways.

Career and College Pathways, in the broadest sense at Spring Lake Park Schools, supports students at all grades levels in exploring potential, best fit careers. As students get older, hands-on learning tied to career exploration helps them discover their interests and even find their futures.

More than $36,000 has been raised so far to support the Fund A Dream. There is still time contribute and keep the momentum going. Donate directly online.
