Course concern: Missing work and/or refusal to participate course work to pass and earn credit. (5047-1)

Dear Parent of Online Digital Photography Trimester 3 Student,

During week 5 and 6 of the trimester, emails went out to all parents to please check their child's course work to contact me with questions or to set up a conference to discuss your child's progress or lack of progress with the course work.

As of week 8, your child has continued to demonstrate a lack of urgency to turn in required work and/or meet due dates of various assignments. They are in jeopardy of failing a course that should be bringing them some enjoyment as well as learning something new related to Digital Photography and using Lightroom and Photoshop on their iPads.

Failing this class as an underclassman means repeating the course or taking another credit to fulfil their fine art's requirement for graduation. If they are a senior, they may be in jeopardy of even walking at graduation this spring if they need this credit to graduate.

Please once again review your child's grade in Schoology. I do my best to zap the missing zeros when items are turned in. If it's late, it will register there as late in their grade book. Trying ot keep up with those who have not taken the unite tests in a timely manner is frustrating. I can not keep tests open in Schoology. Contacting me to set up a time to take the test is your child's responsibility if they missed the generous amount of time given to complete the test.

Please respond with any questions and acknowledgement that you received this email. I would appreciate a conversation and brainstorming a plan to guide your child through this course. Online material is all in Schoology. Please help your student to get on track and do the course work. Everything is there for them to go back each week and make up missing work.
