April 8, 2026 - NEWSLETTER

Panther Families,

In Mrs. Prince’s AP Language and Composition class, students recently wrote essays exploring cancel culture, a form of public shaming, and the impact of social media on their lives. They examined the potential harms of these trends and made meaningful connections to their own experiences.

What students enjoyed most about this essay experience, however, was the “round robin” writing process. Each student began an essay within a set time, then passed it along for a classmate to continue. After several rounds, the essays returned to their original writers, now fully developed and shaped by multiple perspectives. Students found it especially interesting to see how their ideas evolved throughout the process. It’s fun to see learning like this throughout our high school.

We will conduct a pulse check on Thursday with families. This will include an opportunity for families to share appreciation for our staff ahead of staff appreciation events in May. Hearing from all you really helps makes this recognition meaningful. Thank you in advance for taking the time to share. As always, we value your feedback as we work to celebrate successes and identify areas for growth.

Seniors met on Tuesday to review important information for the final weeks of school, including graduation tickets, cap and gown pick-up, and Decision Day on Friday, April 10. Families of seniors, check in with your student on their to-do’s and help them get their ticket order in before April 15. They can find the ticket order form in their MyPanthers email account or through an app on their school iPad.

We also met with juniors (and some seniors) to prepare for next week’s ACT. Students have some preliminary steps to complete before the exam, so please take a moment to check in with your child about their preparation.

Next Tuesday, April 14, will be a distance learning day for students in grades 9, 10, and 12. All 11th-grade (and some identified seniors) students will report to school to take the ACT during the school day. Learning from home for other grade levels helps provide a quiet and focused testing environment for our juniors.

Proud to be a Panther,

Megan Jahnke
