Fall athletics registration is open

See translation information below / Consulte la información de traducción a continuación.

Hello families of students in grades 7-12,

Summer is flying by and now is the perfect time to explore the many athletics and activities opportunities available to students this fall.

Registration for fall athletics is now open, offering middle and high school students a variety of ways to stay active, develop new skills and build meaningful connections with their peers. Registration for select co-curricular activities will open on August 31.

New Registration System This Year: Please note that we have a new registration system this year called Affinety. All families will need to create a new account to register their student for athletics and activities. Find directions on how to create a new account on the register page.

Participation is a cornerstone of the Spring Lake Park High School experience, with nearly 85% of students involved in at least one activity. Whether through athletics, clubs, arts or leadership opportunities, students gain valuable experiences that help them discover their interests, strengthen relationships and grow as individuals. Hear directly from SLPHS students about how their involvement has shaped their journey as Panthers.

I also invite you to join me for an informational meeting on July 28 at 6 p.m., where I will share an overview of our athletics programs, participation requirements and expectations for the upcoming season.

If you have questions, please contact the Athletics and Activities Department at 763-600-5149 or activitiesa...@district16.org.

Enjoy the remainder of your summer!

Will Wackman
Director of Athletics and Activities

Our district provides options for families to purchase Student Accident Insurance. This program is completely voluntary. Explore a variety of insurance coverage options available for families to consider for their students.

Grades 7-8 play-up guidelines

Grades 7-8 students are able to try out in high school athletics offered as 7-12 programs. Students will pay the high school registration fee and are subject to MSHSL regulations. All middle school students who participate in high school athletics must complete all of the same required paperwork as high school students.

Read more about the SLP play-up guidelines under the "Grades 7-12 – Athletics through Minnesota State High School League" section on the Westwood Athletics and Activities webpage.

Apply for Educational Benefits to qualify for reduced fees

Did you know your student may qualify for reduced athletic and activity participation fees? Families are strongly encouraged to complete the Educational Benefits application in order to qualify. Paper applications will be arriving at households later this summer.

The Way We Play - Sportsmanship

Every season we like to remind Panthers that at SLP, we prepare, plan and play to win, but winning is not our purpose. Our athletic program is focused on teaching and learning; human growth and development; and connecting students to caring adults.

Parents and fans have the opportunity to help make our student's athletics experience a success. Watch The Way We Play video below to learn how parents, student-athletes and our community and best support athletic teams.
