Panther Families,
I was in our art teacher Maria Ahrndt’s classrooms this week. She had a line of students at her desk, each holding a drawing to show her and ask for advice. Students are currently using dots to show shading and shadows in their artwork. What impressed me most was how Mrs. Ahrndt provided specific feedback to each student while also making every student feel proud of their work. Students left her desk with genuine pride in their art pieces and confidence in their next steps. It was such a great experience to see – and the art is impressive.
We have conferences on Thursday, 4-7 p.m. via WebEx. Please use this link to sign up if you would like to virtually meet with any of your student’s teachers.
Next week, our Student Council is hosting Winter Spirit Week. Dress-up days will be posted throughout the building. Our events include a Powderpuff Volleyball game on Tuesday evening at 7 p.m. in the Panther Gym. Junior boys will take on senior boys. On Friday, we will end the week with a pep fest and a Student vs. Staff Basketball game.
We are also about a month away from the Panther Foundation’s annual Week of Giving. This fundraising event is an important time to celebrate all the ways our community comes together—in good times and in times of challenge. You can find more information about how to participate and mark your calendar for February 22–28. I hope you will join me in supporting the Panther Foundation as it continues its work on behalf of our students.
Thank you for your continued partnership and support.
Proud to be a Panther,
Megan Jahnke
