Dear Narayan ju,

Thanks for invitation, I booked my calendar for the convention, hope we will get additional information on the convention soon. Hope the NCC are working very well and trying their best for the convention.

I have few suggestion for the convention sessions.

1. Regarding opening ceremony, if it could be in working day in Nepal that could be much better if we wish to cater (bring) respective officials from the Government of Nepal in the program. Better to schedule for Thursday, Friday and Saturday (10-12 April) or similar sequence of dates. Opening ceremony can be started after lunch (after 2:00 pm). I hope the team of WNO had plan to bring Preseident or PM of Nepal.

2. Instead of Academy hall it is much better to have the opening program in City Hall (Sabha Griha) as this is recently renovated for the SAARC Summit.

3. During the day 2 session, it would be much better to have some business session for investment in Nepal and trade activities on Newars living in the world and business persons involved in export and import business in Nepal. Which will link the Newar network on Socio-economic issues. We must think for Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) not just for charities.

4. If you could mention in your invitation about the great festival  Kathmandu Valley
- BUNGADYA JATRA (12 Barshe Mela - once in a 12 yearsevent.) of YALA (Lalitpur) starting from 22 April. Bungadya will be pulled from Bunga to Yala.
- JANBAHADYA JATRA of YEN (Kathmandu) starting 27 March
- BIKA JATRA of KHWAPA (Bhaktapur) starting on the same week 14 April.
would be better for information to those who are participating from different corners of the world.

If any I will be updating as suggestion for better visibility of WNO convention. Please let me know if I can contribute from my end.

Dear respected WNO members, associates and philanthropists,

On behalf of the World Newah Organization (WNO) I would like to wish you a “Happy New Year -2015 A.D” for your peace, prosperity and bountiful luxury.

Today, I am delighted to invite you all to the capital city of Nepal, the Nepal Mandala (Kathmandu) for the WNO second convention from April 11 – 13, 2015 (Nepal Sambat 1135 Chaulaga 7, 8 and 9). The main objective of this convention is to bring together the Newah related organizations, societies, researchers, educators and individuals from around the world to make Newah culture and civilization familiar to the World and to share the pros and cons of their evolution.

The conference is hosted by the WNO Nepal Country Chapter (NCC). The current WNO executive members are, therefore, very motivated to work together with the NCC members for an inspirational program in true Newah tradition. Tentatively, the program is outlined as:

  • Day1: Inauguration/opening ceremony at the academy hall in Kamaladi.

  • Day2: Sessions/paper presentations at Nepal Bhasa Academy.

  • Day3: Election/ conclusion program /closing ceremony at Akcheswor Mahabihar. The third day program will be followed by a cultural program and Newa Bhoe at Ashoka Party Palace in Patan.

The first day program will be followed by a traditional Newah concert. There will be some admission cost for the concert. However, there will be no separate fees for the following days’ programs. They will be covered by the registration fees, which are:

  • US$ 50.00 per person, but the individual participant will be encouraged to donate additional amount as he/she wishes. However, the fee does not apply for the participants from the host country, Nepal. NCC will set the fee for them.

  • US$ 25.00 per child (age between above 10 and below 18)

  • Free for less than or equal to 10 years old child

  • Free for volunteers

On behalf of the WNO I would like to request you to mark your calendar and make plan to attend the upcoming historical convention of Newah people around the world. Your presence in this conference is not only important to participate actively, but also to elect a new leading WNO executive members for the coming years for unity, prosperity, development and in defense of Newah civilization of Nepal. For more information please visit the WNO official website at www.worldnewah.org.

I would also like to request you to forward this invitation to your organizational members, colleagues, friends and families for their participation in this historic WNO convention.

I look forward to meeting you in the convention on April 11-13, 2015. Subhaaye!

Sincerely,

Narayan Rajbhandari, Ph.D.

G. Secretary, WNO
