Upcoming GST Rate Slab Changes – Key Updates from GSTN

Dear ASP,

Please take note of the following important updates communicated by GSTN to GSP regarding the proposed changes in GST rate slabs:

1. The GST Council is scheduled to meet on 3rd–4th September 2025 to finalize changes to the GST rate structure.
2. A revised structure with only two GST slabs is expected to be announced on 4th September 2025.
3. The updated GST rates might be implemented from 22nd September 2025, coinciding with the start of Navratri.
4. All stakeholders—IRPs, GSPs, and ASPs—must ensure readiness for the rate changes.
5. No changes will be made to the API; however, new validations related to the revised rates will be introduced.
6. An updated GST Offline Excel Tool will be provided to accommodate the new rate structure.
7. The changes will also affect e-Invoicing, particularly in validating GST rates before and after the implementation date.
8. A comprehensive FAQ document addressing common queries will be released by GSTN following the official press release from the GST Council meeting.

We recommend initiating preparations promptly to ensure a smooth transition.
