Dear all,

This paper

Zeng, H., Liu, Q., Zhao, F. et al. A Cambrian soft-bodied biota after the first Phanerozoic mass extinction. Nature 651, 679–687 (2026). https://doi.org/10.1038/s41586-025-10030-0

was published in January 2026, however unfortunately I do not have access to the full text, although one taxonomic summary figure is available online:

My interest is to know whether (or not) the authors have established any new genus names (or even species) in this work, which could be added to "my" master compilation IRMNG; the taxonomic summary suggests no (just informal nomenclature for e.g. "Tunicata gen. et sp. nov. B", etc.), but I would be happy if someone with access to the full text could confirm, if you will... there are no new names from this work registered in ZooBank at this time, so far as I can see.

Confirmation of my preliminary assessment would be appreciated, if possible! Thanks in advance,

Tony Rees, New South Wales, Australia

Thanks to several persons who replied, also provided access to the full text. It seems that indeed there are no formal taxon descriptions contained, although plenty of potential ones ... maybe to be expected later, perhaps! As an example the legend to their Fig. 2:

Dear Tony,

No new taxa have been proposed.
