Taxology is the biophysics of macroevolution. The methods are based primarily on the taxon descriptions generated in evolutionary taxonomy.  Essentially, it is the precise mathematical analysis of the processes that underlie biological diversity. Detailed examples are the establishment of the conservation of evolutionary momentum in linages extending across ca. 100 million years, and demonstration of strong differences in evolutionary efficiency between two otherwise similar lineages.
