You will have to define, create a website. I myself use Scriptcase to create applications that need to be accessed over the internet as a web app. If I want to create a website, then I would suggest looking at Joomla (It also uses PHP, MySQL, etc). If you then need to have your SC application available in the website, use the wrapper function in Joomla to load your app.

The built in wrapper is a menu option. There are also some extension I believe. There is no direct link that I am aware of using the Joomla wrapper, but I would think a well designer wrapper extension would perhaps allow for this.

-Only allow access to registered users that load the Joomla Wrapper Menu Item
-You already have access to the db, use SC to access the table for Joomla users and bypass any SC5 login requirements
-If you need to provide limited access to registered users, then compare the md5 hash created for Joomla users with the one added to your SC5 user table. If they match, proceed past the login. Users with no hash are not allowed in and sent to the login screen. (or something along this line)

The Wrapper contains the app in the template which it makes it a bit small. The external link menu dispenses with the template and uses the whole page. Just thought Id say that. Also make sure the username and login for the database is exactly the same as in the config.php in the joomla base folder. Just found that out. by and by Scriptcase rocks

The story goes like this, not only for Scriptcase but for RAD (Rapid Application Development) is general. Wappler has a learning curve and requires your part to know about databases and coding (in order to take full advantage of it). You can also develop with no coding knowledge but the point is to get you into more coding so you actually do whatever you like.

Solutions like Scriptcase have some very strong advantages of creating, really fast, solutions that are useful that would normaly require a lot of coding. But this advantage turns into a disadvantage when wanting to customize. For example, creating a custom layout is so difficult. Adding more functionalities than the ones given is also difficult.

If people are comfortable coding in PHP I fully understand that having to change to a new one is cumbersome. But the great thing about new tech stacks is that Wappler abstracts us from all that and we can take advantage of it without having to invest a huge amount of time in learning at the beginning. You just learn along the way when you need things.

Also, the abstraction of Wappler is great. But if one does not know about their server stuff, wouldn't any type will fail to scale.. be it Node or ASP or PHP? Learning along the way should be true for scaling PHP too I think.
Not to deviate from the topic here, and I don't have too much experience with large scalable apps (PHP or otherwise), but knowing a bit about it from someone with experience would be great.

From what little I have studied and understood those sites/web application which may be heavily used are generally never coded using any tool like Wappler or ScriptCase or WinDev they are coded manually and now a days most of them are coded using some sort of framework like Laravel or CodeIgnite or or Symphony or some thing similar.

ScriptCase certainly does what Wappler does not -- in that it has so many pre-configured templates for different database views & uses that you can crank out a business website to view & manipulate data views without even knowing their use until you see them upon Build & Test.

Besides customization issues (the pages are built according to ScriptCase's proprietary programming mindsets and each page change reverts to SC First programming) it can't really support output in the latest Bootstrap versions, still.

This has been my progression of programming languages since I left uni: C, C++, Java, PHP, Ruby, ABAP() and JS. Next stop Go. There is no need to go back to PHP when we have all these promising ones already here.

If the old hd is still functioning well then you can do a fresh install of SC7 and then xcopy the old instance of your old sc7 over your fresh installation. This way all (apache) processes will be installed ok. When you start SC7 you might get a licence issue, but you can request for a new licence at your customer pages within SC.

Hi Albert,
Finally, after doing many things and installing scriptcase manually all over again i was able to access settings page of my old installation. I quickly did a full backup. I was still getting errors when i ran scriptcase after manual installation. Anyway i was able to at least create a full backup.

I uninstalled scriptcase and other components that i have manually installed and installed it again using auto installer. But i was still getting errors. I think that because of my manually installed crap still there.

I have reformatted the new hard drive -> installed win 7 -> installed scriptcase with auto installer. Then scriptcase started without errors. I restored the backup i created earlier and it is now all good. Generated the code and all seems to be running ok.

I have been using scriptcase for a long time now. I can develope a industrial size software using scriptcase. However I have not seen many people using it in many places or Job market for skilled scriptcase developer is not much. You can do as much things using scriptcase that you can do using any other PHP frameworks (specially for database driven site). You can also create CMS like site using scriptcase But ofcourse you need a strong background of software engineering.

Today is so fast creating a website with development frameworks out there, CodeIgniter, Symphony, Laravel. Even WordPress is to much easy to manage and learn for people who has no idea on development sites. Now days you have development tools like composer, bower, nodejs, etc. Coding php, css, javascript is not the same today, now it is too fast, you can build a website opened for new modules in a pair of hours. do you want to include google maps? no problem, invoke the api with npm; do you want to let the users pay with paypal or stripe? no problem, lets include it via composer; do you want to change the template without affecting the logic business? no problem, lets include/replace a new bootstrap template in some minutes. But as I mentioned, this is a view from a developer perspective, and the points listed above maybe could be the causes that avoid to be choose.

Hi,
I am using Scriptcase now since 2 years. I need it for a web application where orders can be placed and articles can be administrated. Without Scriptcase I had no idea how to realize this, because I am not basically a Web Developer and not familar with all the tools available. Sure I have some PHP knowledge.

I am also developing some internal tools for our company with MS Access and have developed and support earlier software applications running in some countries of EU but with an old
programming language.

Hello Every one, This is my first time in the forum, I Just recently bought Scriptcase and I need to use a php library called autoload.php but I was told to install composer since it has dependencies. How do I go about it in scriptcase. Does Scriptcase work with php Composer?
I will appreciate any assistance

Those are the main reasons SC is not popular, because existing users do not give enough positive feedback to the market (and obviously they have a reason for that). All this boils down to poor company management and lack of understanding main principles or marketing, quality control, customer relation etc.

con scriptcase se me hizo facil aprender PHP venia de programaren COBOL durante mucho tiempo y con scriptcase he desarrollado varias aplicaciones web para mis cliente.
elfide.com esta aplicacin esta hecho en scriptcase.

I run scase grid applications on three websites two are working fine one is reporting a php error on all the apps.
I checked the versions of php on all three sites (they are on separate accounts) and all are 7.3.28

Thanks
I will do that
I double checked and the host server has a php version selector and set for 7.4
I changed the version to 7.3 but the error messages were still showing.
I added your line of code in the appropriate place and all is well.
Perhaps going back to version 7.3 did not actually switch things back to 7.3?
Regards
Steve

Today i have the same problem.
All my domain is affected by the red google message.
I send notice immediatly, but i am waiting for a solution.
Every user who logs in, with the android smartphone, reads the security warning that blocks the website
Scriptcase needs to check for the problem, there must be something wrong with the login page

In fact saturday i reloaded all the website for the switch from php73 version to php81.
So I initially edit the database connection.
If so, you should avoid republishing the entire site but only the updated pages to avoid database relinking.
How long have you been waiting for the latest reset from google?

On Saturday, google reported the main domain as phishing risk by calling the login pages of the various scriptcase projects to which the subdomains are connected.
Until now, both projects with php 7.3 and php 8.1 were reported.
Now google unblocked the warning on the main domain where there is no scriptcase app and 2 subdomains which are connected to two different servers with php 7.3 version.
The 5 servers with the new versions (from which the whole problem started) are still reported as phishing.
By doing an external scan from an analysis site, dangers are reported on the versions of apache, php and openssl installed on Saturday with scriptcase.

I am comfortable with scriptcase for my web applications development tool and I have several applications running on client sites. But I use wordpress for the beauty and eligance it provides as a marketing interface for many clients. I reason I can create a folder for scriptcase application on the same server and link it to the menu I have on the marketing website.
