I have a client that was previously using Allstream years ago... they switched over to our phone solution and we submitted the paperwork to have the phone number (possibly two) ported over... it didn't go through. We requested 2 additional times and it never came through.

So we thought it best to forward the phone number to one of our voip did's and be done with it.

Years later, we have a problem and are trying to debug what is going on.

I ask for their AllStream account info so I can call them... they indicate they are not in charge of that number any longer.

I called Bell and Rogers... ditto.

When I call the phone number, it still forwards to our DID...

Is there any way to find out WHO is in charge of this phone number?

Client says they don't get a bill from anyone for that number!?!? Obviously, we can't loose the number.

Regards,

Chuck

You can try https://www.everyoneapi.com/ - it does an NPAC query and should
provide you with the underlying carrier for the number.
