Its the little details that really make a gaming PC special. Sure, the newly-unveiled 2020 refresh of Acer's Predator Orion 9000 mega desktop might have one of Intel's Core i9 Extreme Edition CPUS and two Nvidia GeForce RTX 2080 Ti graphics cards SLI-ed together for maximum gaming frames, but it's those dinky little trolley wheels on the back of its chassis that really caught my eye in their Acer Next livestream this afternoon, so much so that I think every PC case from here on out should come with wheels as standard. Who's with me?

I mean, yes, no one in their right mind will ever need wheels on their desktop PC. What do Acer think we're going to do with them? Wheel the entire thing over to a socially-distanced LAN party at your mate's house? It's unlikely, to say the least.

Of course, wheels aren't the only thing that's special about Acer's new Orion 9000 desktop. In order for you to gaze longingly at the PC's aforementioned Core i9 Extreme edition CPU and dual RTX 2080 Ti GPUs in SLI, the Orion 9000 now has a tempered glass side panel with EMI shielding to help cut down the amount of noise it generates while in use. This will be particularly good news for streamers or anyone who regularly chats with their mates online using a headset microphone, as it should also reduce that amount of white noise picked up by your trusty recording devices.

Acer have also decked it out with three, all-metal Predator Frostblade fans to allow up to 15% more airflow inside the PC compared to their previous generation of Orion 9000 desktops, helping to keep all those top notch components nice and chilly. There's also space for up to three 3.5in HDDs and two 2.5in SSDs, and it also comes with USB 3.2 Gen 2 Type-C hot swap dock for even more storage options. It shouldn't be too difficult to upgrade further down the line, either, thanks to Acer's new tool-less design.

This liquid-cooled behemoth comes with PCI-e ports to support up to four graphics cards, complete with support for up to 128GB of RAM, and 44TB of storage. The Acer Predator Orion 9000 will also support Intel's new Core i9 Extreme processor, packing a ridiculous 18 CPU cores. It is, indeed, quite insane.

Inspired by the custom gaming PC community, Acer set out to build something fully customizable, from the motherboard down to the "IceTunnel 2.0" liquid cooling system. The chassis was a major point of design for Acer, which was built specifically to partition different components for separate streams of airflow, to keep things as frosty as possible.

The case will also support 16.7 million RBG colors, because gaming PCs have to, apparently, complete with a transparent side panel to showcase all of those sexy internals. Interestingly, the interior of the case was fitted with a metallic mesh to reduce electro magnetic interference from other devices. You shouldn't get any odd buzzing sounds when using your phone too close to this thing.

The case also comes with several handles, and even wheels to aid with portability. I dread to think how heavy this thing might be, but it should be a little easier to move around than most gaming PCs in this sector.

Designed for multi-monitor set-ups and extreme 8K resolution simulation gaming, the Acer Predator Orion 9000 will be able to handle literally anything you throw at it, even if you plan to run multiple games simultaneously.

While the internals will be fully configurable when pre-orders go live, Acer said that it didn't want to build a PC exclusively for the high rollers. As such, this tower will be available from the "affordable" price of around $2000 when it goes on sale in the coming months. If you want to configure this beast with multiple GPUs, a Core i9, and 128GB of RAM, I suspect you're going to need a small fortune to pay for it.

Acer announced the Predator Orion 9000 alongside tons of other gaming accessories and laptops, while touting the renewal of its partnership with Riot Games for League of Legends eSports promotion. The Predator gaming series is going from strength to strength in an increasingly competitive PC gaming market.

Outside of benchmarks and tests, we took to playing several rounds of Overwatch at a solid 70 frames per second (fps) with the game running at 4K with all the graphical options maxed out. We also cautiously roamed the halls of Talos 1 in Prey at similarly maxed out 4K setting for a smooth 90-110 fps experience.

The only more infuriating thing about the Acer Predator Orion 9000 is it still comes with a boat load of preinstalled applications, like Norton Anti-Virus, Shop Ebates and Candy Crush Soda Saga despite its massive price tag. We feel as if Acer could have spent at least a little more on an bloatware-free version of Windows 10, considering the high-profile aspect of this machine.

An 18-core processor is overkill for purely PC gaming or any single task. Having two of the top-end graphics cards in the world is a slightly more reasonable purchase, especially if you plan to play on a high-frame rate or Ultra HD display.

Well now it's time to introduce the big brother of the Predator 21X. The Predator Orion 9000 with a Zotac RTX 4090 and a Predator X35 Monitor. This monster is a dream come true. It plays all the Games butterly smooth and should be enough for the next few years.

It's a prebuilt, I bought the Desktop for 2200$, the monitor for 850$ and the Graphics card for like 2200$. The Predators used to have an awesome look, the desktop definitely looks as nice as the 21X. The monitor is 35 inches curved and has 200hz. I can use hdr with it which is nice. The cpu is an 8700k, it's not the best pairing option with the 4090 but it still performs great. I would say that I loose 15-20 fps because of the cpu but it's not so noticeable since it performs at a resolution 3440 x 1440. I have 32GB of Ram. 1T of ssd space and 8T of HDD space for all my games. The motherboard is a Z37H4-AA from Acer, the highest cpu upgrade it can have is the i9 9900ks and the power supply is a FSP 1000W gold certified psu. I will post pictures later.

cool i can see that ure leaving a nice wide gap from the gpu power connector for it to not bend much, well done. those news currently floating around about melting power connectors make me a bit uneasy about my new monster desktop ?

Acer may have some super-slimline notebooks in its CES 2018 line-up, but if you want the beef you probably need the Acer Nitro 5 gaming laptop. Targeting casual gamers who need more grunt for AAA titles, but don't want to go down the full performance route with all the cost that entails, the new notebook packs AMD's Ryzen's processors.

They're paired with AMD Radeon RX560 graphics, and up to 32 GB of DDR4 memory. Acer is offering configurations with up to 512 GB of SSD storage, too. Its preloaded NitroSense app promises to automatically monitor the CPU and GPU performance while under load, and adjust the cooling dynamically to avoid frame drops and instability.

The screen is a 15.6-inch Full HD IPS panel, topped with an HD camera. There are Dolby Audio Premium and Acer TrueHarmony speakers, while connectivity includes 802.11ac WiFi, USB Type-C, HDMI 2.0, and gigabit ethernet.

Style-wise, you'll either love the Nitro 5's design or find it a little too "stereotypical gaming notebook" depending on how your tastes fall. The top cover has laser texturing, while the crisis hinge is matte finish and matches the keyboard backlighting. It's not exactly subtle.

Pricing kicks off at $799, Acer says, when the Nitro 5 arrives in the US come April. Meanwhile, the company has also confirmed US availability and pricing of another Acer gaming rig, the Acer Predator Orion 9000 Series. That was announced back at IFA 2017.

Acer has presented a range of new Predator gaming PCs and peripherals at IFA 2017. Probably the most eye catching new product is the Acer Predator Orion 9000 Series desktop PC, which Acer refers to as "an extreme platform for gaming and content creation," and it certainly can be configured into a very powerful PC. Acer also unveiled the Predator X35 curved WHQD gaming monitor, the Galea 500 gaming headset, and the Cestus 500 gaming mouse.
