to Tattoo and Body Art
Knowing how to pick your first tattoo will involve many factors. Of
course, before you get your first tattoo you will want to seek out the
perfect design. But, don't overlook some of the most important tattoo
precautions. I'm talking about the health risks.
When we get a tattoo we are all excited about the terrific design we
have chosen. We sometimes forget that a tattoo is actually a wound!
Just like any other scrape, cut or puncture a tattoo is a perfect
location for an infection to begin.
Before you get your first tattoo be sure your immunizations are
current. It may also be a good idea to plan ahead and know where you
will seek treatment if an infection does occur.
People with certain medical conditions should be extra cautious before
they get a tattoo. Conditions such as diabetes, allergies, heart
disease or any conditions that affect your immune system should stay
in close consultation with their doctor if they choose to get a
tattoo.
Choose your tattoo studio with care. It should appear clean and
sterile. Ask for recommendations from your chamber of commerce. You'll
want to know of any complaints and whether they are properly licensed.
Also have your chosen artist provide you with references. By all
means, if the tattoo shop does not appear clean, or if any thing just
doesn't quite feel right, choose another shop.
As for the design, choose wisely. Remember, a tattoo is forever unless
you can afford the expensive laser tattoo removal. Be cautious about
having someone's name as your first tattoo. Relationships change
through the years. Unless the name you choose is deceased, or is maybe
a parent or sibling it would probably not be advisable to make your
first tattoo a name.
Knowing how to pick your first tattoo encompasses many things. If you
will take these few tattoo precautions into consideration they will
make your first tattoo experience a pleasant one.
