Murphy now meets John Higgins, who delivered a typically resolute display to overcome Neil Robertson 13–10 and secure his place in the last four. In the bottom half of the draw, Wu Yize—who had never previously won a match at the Crucible—continued his breakthrough run with a 13–8 victory over Hossein Vafaei, booking a semi-final clash with Mark Allen. Allen, appearing in the semi-finals for the third time, strengthened his bid for a maiden world final with a hard-fought 13–11 win against Barry Hawkins in one of the matches of the round.
