Welcome to the group where I share some of the more important correspondence that I have had related to boosting the economy here in Central - Nova, Nova Scotia, Canada!
In my part of Nova Scotia, Canada, the difference between low tide to high tide is only about one meter. Along parts of the Bay of Fundy (about one hundred miles, 160 kms from where I live) the difference can be between FIFTEEN TO SEVENTEEN METERS!
The Bay of Fundy has a funneling effect on tidal waters.
I am worried that a one foot (30 cm) rise in high tide level in my part of Nova Scotia could produce a high tide level near Truro and Moncton that is 4.5 meters higher than normal??!!
30 cm x 15 = 450 cm/4.5 m
Therefore the owners of the 143,000 acres of productive farmland along the Bay of Fundy are in the position of the proverbial canary in the coal mine as far as climate change and rising ocean levels is concerned!
What will Nova Scotia political leaders do about this potential problem of this land being nearly impossible to protect from high tide levels?
