Radha (Pooja Bhatt) and Manohar (Vivek Mushran) love each other and want to get married, but Radha's dad (Ashok Saraf) does not approve of their marriage as Manohar comes from a poor family. He instructs Radha not to leave the house, but Radha finds a way to escape and goes to Manohar's house. Anticipating more obstacles, they run away, guided by Radha's uncle Natwarlal(Prem Chopra). Natwarlal convinces them that they must kidnap a wealthy person and demand a big ransom and take the money to appease Radha's dad. It is then they start to realize that their uncle has some other devious plans for them.
ENTERTAINMENT, ENTERTAINMENT, ENTERTAINMENT. I had fun. Pooja and Vivek play this dumb teenage couple who get caught up with a scheme involving Jackie Shroff, Madhuri Dixit, gundas, mafiosos, police officers, and of course... just love. Yknow, there's always love.
I love Pooja, this movie is opposite in energy from Dil Hai Ke Manta Nahin, but I think they're equally fun. it's just the mood. do you want ridiculous over the top comedy with real dance numbers or subtle romantic comedy? really, the ultimate difference is straight haired Pooja vs perm Pooja.
I'd like to talk about the contrast in the two couples instead. Ashutosh and Shivangi are supposed to be our "main" couple, and Radha and Manu are supposed to be our "side" couple. Radha and Manu are also canonically stupid, young, and naive, while Ashutosh and Shivangi are mature, smart, and damaged.
It's WACKY! The premise is pretty straight-forward but what it turns into is quite unexpected. Madhuri Dixit (for whom I even bothered to watch the film for) is barely in 3 scenes in the first 90 mins. The second half gets more interesting and fun. There's more Madhuri
