I have no button but all emotes are still visible entered by others in chat.
Here are some of the things I have done to figure out why my BTTV emote button is gone.
-Uninstalled/Reinstalled BTT
-Checked the CDN
-Cleared cache and cookies
-Disabled all extensions and tried BTT by itself

You do have a drop down menu though for the emotes. If you hover or click (I forget) on the little person icon at the upper left of the chat window, it should be there. I;m going off memory since I:m not logged in currently but it is there somewhere.

Anyways I've had this idea for past couple weeks or so I'd say, I was thinking what if there was a hotkey or hotbutton (consoles) for the emotes in game... Like something kinda like fortnite where you can use your emotes after a kill or somthing quicker. Idk just a thought that I think would be super dope if added into apb. Just a lil somthing to add to the toxicity

I'd like this a lot. I used to have macros set up for my emotes years ago, but I wouldn't even dream of setting that up nowadays with BE running. What I'd really like to see would be an emote wheel on the UI when you hold down the bound key for it with 5 swappable slots for emotes. If you need to use an emote that isn't selected on the wheel you can still just type it in the chat or bring up the F10 emote menu.

Had the idea today after a hillbilly snuck up on me with tinkerer (i've been to rank 1 and am currently rank 8 so this doesn't happen often I'd like to think). Had no real way to express to the guy until after the game was over (which console players can't really do) how much he scared the absolutely everliving crap out of me.

more hand gestures however would be very useful, esp if you're on first hook- a Don't Get Me gesture would be nice to communicate to some people it's not worth the risk, and the spamming the try to escape button doesn't always mean the same thing to everyone

i second thumbs up/down so that we don't have to turn the camera so much to nod/shake head, or just communicate that we don't want healing, or if going a certain way is risky, or we have a different plan.

even for killers i think that would be good, or just any gestures for killer would be nice. sometimes i want to give a surv the hatch but they don't quite understand me flailing my main weapon in the air means 'go this way'

It'd be hilarious but yeah it'd be abused. It shouldn't be able to be used while downed since Hex: The Third Seal and Knockout would be useless. "Where'd he down you at?" "AAAAAAAAUUUUUUGHHHH!!!!" "Oh, he's over there."

Sometime recently, it was changed to the bubble appears immediately and you can select the text within. This has made it more difficult to interact with chat text, as the bubbles are appearing as soon as I mouse over anything, blocking other thing around them, like mod controls, the Pin or Reply button, or the emote in the row above it that I was trying to access. This has also made selecting/copying raid messages much more difficult as the mouse can't differentiate between the message and the emote name bubble.

I'm going to bump this thread again because it really is an ABSOLUTE pain to copy even my own personal raid message when I'm done streaming and trying to raid out to another person. Also, as stated in many other comments it's super annoying when you're trying to reply to a chat, moderate a fellow streamers chat, or even just trying to click on anything in general near an emote. I have no idea when this change happened, but it definitely needs to be a QOL fix soon. -_-

An infuriating change, to say the least... This really needs to get fixed.
Between the hover text blocking other emotes, WHOLE MESSAGES, moderation controls, and The Channel Point Hover Text also Blocking the Entire Chat Bar (ESPECIALLY NOW with the addition of Power-Ups adding Bits to the same spot), it's turned maintaining a broadcast into an obstacle course (also sucks when you're a viewer, needless to say)

Putting my hand up as well. Very irritating. I have to do gymnastics around other emotes to make sure I don't trigger the pop ups so I can actually select anything. If there is text over an adjacent emote, you cannot click it. Super annoying. I'm glad to know I'm not alone here. I thought I was being a brat. LOL. Anyway, have a good day! Love, mouseboy420.

im here to add to the list of complaints about this stupid problem. its absolutely annoying because i already have problems where my PC will randomly not register clicks to my mouse, this just adds to the frustration. its an additional layer of problems that doesnt need to exist. as a streamer and a viewer, this never occurred until recently, and its finally got to the point where im bitсhing about it on the internet. good going twitch!

I am a mod in a busy channel and any annoyance that makes me waste a click is very disrupting and prevents me from maximizing my time, which is a must for me! I hate this so much! Not only should those bubbles not be interactive, but not pop up so fast. The mouse should hover over them a few seconds at least before they pop up. One of the most annoying things I've seen in the last 4 years on Twitch.

Agree. I sat there unable to reply to a message bc it stayed hovered over the reply button. Trying to scroll chat is extremely frustrating because the little pop-up is all over the place. I don't understand why they chose to enable this for everyone. And as a new mod it's worse because it gets in the way of things we need to click on. It's everything on the screen, so anything you hover over has the bubble pop up instantly which constantly blocks things you actually want to click on.

This is very annoying and also gets in the way of trying to Mod chat messages with stupid pop ups getting in the way of commands. It also makes it extra hard to try and copy paste things like Raid messages when you're fighting to get the cursor into the right spots to select text.

There are many frustrated by this change. This has gone on much longer than should be with the outcry I have heard and the benefit of the change is what again? Just another keypusher getting their name on something? Likely...

Why wont this work?
I want it to thank someone if i click it with mouse1 and bow for that person if i click with mouse2.
Have been helped and buffed by so many randoms passing by now this macro might be the most pressed button in history.

Also, it's been super triggering, having to take my hand off my gamepad and move it like 2-3 feet under my monitors and around other equipment to hit esc, just so I can leave the game when it's over. I don't know what happen to the button you could just hit with your mouse to leave, but I've literally gotten off for the day because of how annoying not having that button is.

1) If you want to do emotes with your character, you can hold ctrl and alt together to bring up a bunch of emote commands. Clicking one will allow you to do the emote, while hovering over one will give you a list of keywords you can type in chat to trigger them.

2) For chat emoticons, you can click the button and you can click to add one to your chat messages... you can also use special "/" commands to do them as well (ie: type "/wink" to do the wink emoticon in chat)

You know what would be cool though, a dedicated Emote button. Like we have with the mounts, assign 1 emote to the quick slot. This would allow users to quick slot their most commonly used emote, be it rockout, wave, shiver (lul who uses that), ponder and so on. You could be saying hello to the Dungeon party and pressing your emote button to wave. It may be a small thing but i can see it getting some use by some players.

I would like to add a new idea. When pushing an emote button there's an animation around the player like a fire explosion, a lightning strike, falling leaves, hearts, healing lights or other visual effects.

Back in Gmod Tower (and most games with emotes), holding the key for the emote menu opens it directly on screen for quick selection with a single click. This is a nice thing for spontaneous player interaction.

I can only see this as a huge quality of life improvement if these appearance options were simply removed or moved to another key so that the emotes can be opened onscreen without an additional click. Why do these even share the same space?

but again I would want it to be on whole different key, not forcing c to be only emotes and moving the rest to a different key (I think of C as standing for customize or character more then emote anyways)

Emotes are animations that players can use in addition to VOIP communications. Emotes are divided into two categories: Emotes (only usable in mainbase) and Gestures (usable anywhere). To access the emotes radial menu, press and hold the X key during the game session.

Emotes are full-body animations, when players use them, a 3rd person view of the player character will appear. Doing actions such as moving, aiming down sight, jumping, crouching or going prone, switching gear, etc, will interrupt the emote. Emotes can only be used in the Main Base or anywhere during the staging phase o avoid the 3rd person's view impacting gameplay.
