One of the Yuva Asked me about Adopt-A Highway program . Here is the info.

The Adopt-A-Highway Program (AAH) was established by the North Carolina Department of Transportation (NCDOT) as a joint effort between community volunteers and the NCDOT. Its purpose is to decrease the amount of litter on North Carolina's roadsides and improve the beauty and quality of the environment. As part of this program TATA has adopted a portion of Evans Road where you see the above sign for cleanup few times a year.

This is a FREE and GREAT opportunity to come with kids and friends, have nice breakfast served by TATA on a beautiful spring morning and do some community service. The next event is scheduled on Saturday the 29th of March. Volunteers must be at least 10 years of age. We will be starting the process at 9.30AM at the intersection of Aviation Parkway and Evan's Road.

All the participants can park their cars either at Hindu Bhavan or at the parking of the office buildings on Evan's Road (near the intersection) and walk to the starting point. We will all walk on both sides of the road till the Evan's and Weston Parkway intersection and return back. Please wear comfortable clothing, a light jacket and shoes/sneakers. We will be supplying the vests and other material required for the process when we gather.

So, key points to remember..

1) Event Time: 9.30 AM to 11.30AM. Gather at 9.30. Pick Up tour will start sharp at 10AM

2) Place of meeting: Evan's Road and Aviation Parkway intersection

3) Parking: Hindu Bhavan or Office buildings on Evans Rd

4) Others:

  a) All the participants must be 10 years or older

  b) Wear comfortable clothing and shoes.

  c) All the rest of the material will be provided at the gathering when we meet at 9.30AM

  d) Donuts, Bagels, Coffee, Juices and Water will be provided.

For information about the program and the safety guidelines, please refer to

Thank you for your participation and making this event a success.
