I pulled Canon lbp6030w out of the box for the first time today. Before I tried to install the drivers on windows, I just put the cartridge into the printer and plugged in the power. Immediately, the power light turned to green, but the paper indicator below it was in solid orange without blinking. At this moment, I hadn't connected computer to this printer yet. Even after I put some 8.5x11 paper I'm the tray, it is still in solid orange. Later I installed the driver and connected the printer to laptop. When I tried to print a test page, I noticed the job was sent to the queue, but then disappeared quickly and there is no response on the printer at all. Can I know what the possible issue is? Is the printer dead out of the box? Thanks.

If the paper light is solid, it would point to a hardware issue with the printer. When the paper needs to be loaded/checked, the paper light will flash. In this situation, I would suggest removing the toner cartridge and checking for any obstructions or packing material. If it is clear, you can turn the printer off and on and then reload the toner.

If the toner light is still solid, it looks like the printer needs service. To check your available options, you can use the link HERE to check your My Canon account for service options or you can contact support at 1-800-652-2666.

I am using a Mac (version 12.5.1 Monterey). I recently got a new internet service and my printer will not disconnect from the old wifi. I have uninstalled the printer, updated the drivers and try to reinstall the printer. It will not connect to the new wifi OR when it's hardwired.

With the LBP6030w, you won't need to disconnect the printer from the old network to connect the printer to a new network. Once you perform the network setup and the printer successfully connects to a new network, the settings will change.

If your router does not have a WPS button on it, you would need to try the setup from the computer while the printer is connected to the Mac via USB. If the add a printer window does not show a connection, the Mac does not see a cable connection between the two devices. You can try another USB cable or check with Apple to see if your current Mac supports the cable connection or if you need an adapter. The printer usually uses a standard A to B USB cable.

Good day Canon Community! I've recently encountered a problem with Canon LBP 6030b while was trying to share the printer between 4 PCs in one LAN. The printer is physically connected via USB to one of them and is working properly. When any of other PCs in LAN is trying to connect to the printer, I get the following error:

I have a Canon LBP6000. I was running low so I bought a replacement 125 toner. Toner came and it didn't work. It caused the printer to just run/hum and beep. The printer normally makes a little running sound when you turn it on and then it stops and is ready to print. Well, when the replacement is installed it just keeps on running and will not sit idle. It will also beep. It's as if the toner is not being recognized. I thought the toner was defective so I bought another one from a different seller. That one came and the same problem. Printer just hums and will not print or function with the replacement installed. It's running continuously and overheating when the replacement is in and will not shut off unless I turn it off. It will not print or do anything. Just runs. Kind of gargles.

Seeing as there was nothing wrong with the printer before, I didn't see why anything would be wrong with it now just from buying a replacement toner but I figured that two replacement toners not working from two different sellers had to be the printer and not the toners I got from these sellers.

I have now bought 6 Canon 125 toners from 6 different sellers that will not work in these units. These printers will only work with the starter toners that come with them. I can take the starter out of the 6000 and put it in the 6030 or in the reverse and they work fine. I'm currently printing on the LBP6000 with the toner that came with the new 6030w. However, any form of replacement will not work. I have official Canon toners and bootlegs. Doesn't matter either way. They look identical to the starter but do not function.

When I first installed the Canon cd it defaulted to the 6030L (nothing worked): ...I finally was able to get it once to find the 6030W, but when i printed it thru up an Error Msg (Cannot Connect) but it would mysteriously print the documents maybe 8-15 min. later?

AS of 5 days ago--nothing prints!!! PC Blue Tooth cannot see printer! Reboot both PC & Printer does not seem to help. Printer has steady Blue light on. Has dropped off Devices list and will not reinstall.

I see there is already 1 such problem listed with no answer from January this year? Can I expect assistance with this problem or not? Thank you in advance for reading my concerns and hopefully giving me a solution.

I don't have experience with this printer, but I have installed other Canon printers. It requires following the installation step by step. It also requires that you link the printer to the router, probably via WPS.

Thank you for your response. Much appreciated. I mis-wrote my query, It is the fact that as I noted my router can't see it (the 6030W) although it finds all other network items. Unable to add this printer over my network. The other problem is that, whether i select the download from the link you provide (which I did (deleted everything first)and re-installed) or use the OEM CD it installs printer 6030L not 6030W. I had the 6030L deleted once and it installed the 6030W which worked for a couple of days with a odd 10 minute delay in print jobs (first telling me could it not find the printer/unable to print...but then it would mysteriouslyprint after the long delay). Then the 6030W printer profile in Devices vanished and alI I can get now is the 6030L which will work with a cable. So I have it working today but NOT wirelessly.

If I could download software that insured that it only contained the 6030W printer driver/profile I might be able to resolve the issue. I found nowhere where I could select just the 6030W with either install. Any additional suggestions would be helpful. Thanks

I have a canon laser lbp6030w and will it not print pdf files. My computer is up to date and less the a year old. I called canon and they said it was a apple problem. Is their am Driver I can download?

You might want to check the print queue and see if anything is just sitting there, not printing. If so, then cancel it. Try printing something else, such as this post. See what occurs. If nothing, clear the print queue.

(1) Does it require a replacement imaging drum? The printers I've used haven't, and I don't see a drum offered on the product page ( -lbp6030w?color=Black&type=New), but I thought I'd ask, just in case.

(2) What are the chances I could get 100K pages out of this model? It is an office printer, and states that its monthly duty cycle is 5000 pages--and I gotta think that they are making printers with an expected life span of more than 20 months. But again, I thought I'd ask.

Oddly when I try to attache via the UI, I can but the connection is hit and miss and very slow. I would usually have to wait a few minutes to the printer menu to come up in Chrome. Then I may or may not be able to get to a sub menu. The printer however will not print.

In setting up my printer and router, I had assigned as static IP for the printer. It seems when the printer is disconnected abruptly some bit that had been negotiated between the printer and router was lost. But becasue I had manually entered the IP into the printer is seemed to still "know" the IP address but could not really connect to the router.

Given that the printer doesn't have much in the way of displaying its configuration or staus, I would assign a static IP to the printer using MAC address reservation. Note: On your router this feature is called IP & MAC Binding

Both of these (information) can be found in your routers configuration Advanced tab > Wireless 2.4Ghz > Wireless Settings shows (SSID Name) and then same path above Wireless Security section shows the (wireless password)

The above is a great place to become more familiar with your routers settings (Admin Console). You can use this as a reference before making changes to you router's actual configuration. All of the settings you need can be found on the Advanced Tab. This is an emulator, not your actual router so feel free to click and look around.

You will need to use a USB cable for set up. Here's why. It will give you granular control of the configuration and set up process. Once done, and you have the printer manually configured in conjunction with the router, you won't have to mess with the settings again, because they will not change. Read through the entire instructions regarding manual set up I referenced above.

Choose an available IP somewhere in the range of addresses that is meaningful to you. Say 192.168.0.150 Easy to remember. Now navigate to the IP & MAC Binding section (Advanced tab). Enter the 192.168.0.150 IP and bind it to the printer's MAC address. Make sure you save it. The router will restart. Once it's back up, turn the printer off. Wait 5 sec and turn it back on. When it reconnects to the wireless network, the router will recognize it's MAC address and assign it with the 192.168.0.150 IP address. The printer now has a static IP.
