Hi all and happy Friday!

I hope you’ve been enjoying the Fall weather!

Despite the earlier mix-up, I'm interested in scheduling a date to start TA Staten Island/ South Brooklyn's idea generation process for our 2026 strategic planning work. I'll start with a short introduction to the process before we break out into geographic groups. The focus of this meeting will simply be to start generating potential 2026 campaign ideas. You won't need to come with ideas ready, but if you do, that's great as well!

I'll have maps ready for you to annotate, describing:
  • Locations of safety concern
  • Locations where better walking or biking infrastructure is needed
  • Places that could use pedestrianization improvements
  • Heavily used intersections that lack basic infrastructure
  • Etc
We'll turn concerns into fully fledged campaign ideas and narrow them down at a later date, but for this first meeting, you'll just need to think critically about the streets you travel on and imagine what would make them safer and more welcoming to all who use our public spaces.
  1. To help me find the best time, please fill out the doodle scheduler HERE
  2. The easiest way to facilitate will be to meet in person. Since we have people here from both Staten Island and South Brooklyn, I think it makes the most sense to meet at the TA office in Lower Manhattan. Please let me know if meeting in Lower Manhattan works for you, or if you'd rather that I separate the Staten Island and South Brooklyn planning sessions so that you won't need to travel off borough.
Thanks all, and enjoy your weekend!
