This is not from the CB1 meeting, it was from the EDC North Shore
Meeting, last year and a few weeks ago. Pete, where at the meeting
with me last year when they proposed this the first time.

A few weeks ago the brought it up again and I was still against it. I
think its a waist of time and money. If it happenS, it would soon
become another reason for anti bike ppl to rally support. ItS on a
steep hill and goes nowhere, nobody will use it. Where are you going
that you need to ride your bike up Jersey St?

The guy in the video, Sweeney, heS on the NS transportation board
aswell I think, hes a good guy, he supports biking.

If they wanna help biking on the NS, Richmond Terr is the most
important, then Clove, Broadway, Castleton, Forest. Not Brighton Ave!

As a member of the New York East Coast Greenway Committee, we're
interested in a bike trail from the ferry to the Goethals Bridge. (We
would like to see most if not all of it off-road). The most logical
route would be along the Richmond Terr / North Shore RR corridor from
the Ferry to Port Richmond and then along the North Shore RR right-of-
way from there to Goethals Bridge with access to Bayonne Bridge as
well. A plan to do this has already been approved by CB1. There are
already some preliminary agreements among some of the companies along
the Terrace to swap land to make this happen.

As for the New Brighton loop - the devil is in the details.
Conceptually, I'm not against it, since it would feed the Terrace
trail. In the video they mentioned tree lined narrow streets. I
would think they would make excellant bike routes for many people.
The business about leaves on the street - totally disingenuous.
However Jersey street, that's another matter.

CB1 is asking for input on this topic on their FB page. Scroll down to
post reading "Bike lanes through Randall Manor? Perhaps Richmond
Terrace instead. Let your voice be heard. Comment on the draft Staten
Island 2030 plan".

I'd like to see improvements to the Richmond Terrace bike path, since
it actually has substantial bike traffic. And the last time I was on
it I noticed huge chunks of it don't exist anymore, and Gerardi's
Farmers Market, Family Court, and the NYPD all use it for parking.

I'm in favor of supporting both.
