Hey all,

I hope you're having a great week.

I would like to invite you all to our first Albany Lobbying Day of 2026, co-hosted by TA and Families for Safe Streets, on Tuesday, January 27th.

Our main focus will be on collecting additional Assembly sponsors for the Stop Super Speeders bill, which would mandate the installation of an Intelligent Speed Assist device in the car of any driver who accumulates eleven or more points on their driving record during a 24-month period, or receives 6 speed camera or red light camera tickets during a 12-month period. The "Stop Super Speeders"  bill made it through the State Senate last year and needs to pass in the Assembly and get signed by Governor Hochul this year. We are extremely optimistic about our chances of getting it passed and signed during this year's legislative session, but we need to show a strong showing of support to get there!

For my fellow North Shore residents, one of our main targets this year is Assemblyman Fall, and it would be great to have a handful of his constituents with us. Even for those who aren't in his district, we are hoping to bring a powerful group to Albany so I hope you can make it!

Here is information about the other bills we will lobby for:

If you wish to attend, please RSVP here! An accurate headcount in crucial to help us plan the day accordingly.

Here are the details:
  • We will get to Albany via a coach bus leaving from Midtown at 6 am. The same bus will bring us back to Midtown by 7 pm later that evening. The bus is not wheelchair accessible, but we can provide Amtrak tickets to those who require more accessible transportation options.
  • Lunch and snacks will be provided. We'll also have coffee for folks on the bus.
  • In Albany, each team will meet with anywhere from 3-5 different legislators for scheduled meetings in between popping into offfices to drop off materials and chat briefly with staffers.
  • We will host formal trainings prior to the 27th, so that everybody understands their role
Best,
--
