Hi, everyone,
I copied the 'TASSEL_5_unix.sh' under my directory and run the command 'bash TASSEL_5_unix.sh' but I got warning messages like 'WARNING: Could not lock User prefs.  Unix error code 38.
Apr 16, 2015 6:08:57 PM java.util.prefs.FileSystemPreferences syncWorld
WARNING: Couldn't flush user prefs: java.util.prefs.BackingStoreException: Couldn't get file lock.'.

What should I do to make TASSEL 5 work?

Another question is where TASSEL 5 will be installed and what I should do to specify a directory under which to install TASSEL 5.

Thanks.

Hi Jinpeng,

I recommend installing Tassel 5 using this method...

https://bytebucket.org/tasseladmin/tassel-5-source/wiki/docs/UpdatingTasselStandaloneUsingGit.pdf

Then see "Command line for Linux" section here

https://bytebucket.org/tasseladmin/tassel-5-source/wiki/docs/ExecutingTassel.pdf

Best,

Terry
