Problem installing Tassel 5 on Mac

I downloaded Tassel 5 for Mac and tried to install it, but got the message "can't be opened because Apple cannot check it for malicious software." My mac is OS is Monterey version 12.6. I see others had a different but possibly related problem in a thread from 2019. Any help appreciated, as I need to use this for a class.
