Hello Tassel community,

I’m having trouble with my genotype HapMap file. When I load it into Tassel, the software interprets the dataset as numerical data rather than sequence data. I’ve attached a screenshot showing the issue.

Has anyone encountered this before? What steps can I take to ensure Tassel recognizes the file as sequence data instead of numerical?

Thank you in advance for your guidance.

Is your file extension .hmp.txt?

Thank you for your suggestion.

I first tried loading the file with a .txt extension (see attached screenshot tassel), but TASSEL interpreted the genotypes as numerical data. Then I renamed it with a .hmp.txt extension (screenshot tassel 1 attached), and TASSEL displayed an error message during parsing (see second screenshot tassel 2 ).

Please check the site S06_00697740I, to make sure it has the correct
number of header and genotype values

Save it in Excel or similar as a txt file. Headers must be correct. Open it in Tassel specifically as a hapmap.
