Hello!

Is it possible to use TJ3 for CCPM? Has anyone examples and real experience in it?

Thank you.

Hi Damir,

I guess that depends on what you mean by "use TJ3 for CCPM".

If it is sufficient for you to schedule and track a single project
according to the rules of CCPM, that is easy. The trick is to rigorously
use "precedes" instead of "depends".

I did that for one of the sample projects in Larry Leaches "Critical
Chain Project Management" and I could share tjp file I created for that.

Yet, the biggest benefit of CCPM lies not in applying it to a single
project , but in applying it to the management of a project portfolio
and by that focusing a multiproject organization.

Here, unfortunately, I can not help you as I have not succeeded yet in
setting up the tj-deamon accordingly.

Thank you,  Hannes!

I'm interesting in multiproject using of TJ, especially for resource management. I'm new for CCPM, so i find as much information, as possible. Thank you for examples.

Hi Damir,

I guess that depends on what you mean by "use TJ3 for CCPM".

I did some scheduling and tracking exercises for one of the bigger examples in Larry Leaches CCPM book. You can find the related files on github (https://github.com/HannesKarey/CCPM_Larry_Leach_Example).

The trick for CCPM scheduling is to rigorously use "precedes" instead of "depends".

To me the power of CCPM lies not in planing or scheduling single projects but in focusing a whole multiproject organization during project execution. But I did not yet look into how to support that with tj.

If you should find a way, please let me know.
