Hello,

I tried searching the manual and googling, but am not sure how to accomplish this. I think it's similar to this request, but I'm asking for tj3:

I have a timeline I'm trying to create that will span a couple of years for one of the milestones. I'd like to just show by month or quarter so that it doesn't take up so much width. I just need something high level, so breaking down the current month into 4 weeks is not necessary. How does one do this? If this still isn't clear, the default format shows one line for month (Mar 2016, Apr 2016, ...) and each month has a line under it with the first day of each week (under Mar, there's 07, 14, 21, 28). I'd like to just have a single year cell where the months currently are, and instead of the weekly breakdown to just have Mar, Apr, May, etc.).

Is this possible? I tried messing with loadunit, but that only affects the duration column.

Thanks for any tips!
John

Hello John,

have you tried to set 'colum' in you chart definition?

E. g. (!pseudocode!)

taskreport x "" {
    header -8<-
    ...
    ->8-
    timeformat "week%W/%Y"
    start 2015-08-01
    end 2016-12-31
    columns ...
            complete,
            chart {scale quater width 1500  },
            ...
}

instead of quater, year could also be used...maybe it helps you.

greetings

Alex

Brilliant! I feel I should have found that somehow, but just had no
idea where I was looking. I find I often don't call the "thing" what
it's actually called, like "scale" vs. my intuition around "period" or
"start/end" or "interval."

They work great! It looks like `scale month` is exactly what I was hoping for.

Many thanks!
