Hi TaskJuggler Users!

It's my pleasure to announce the most recent release of TaskJuggler
III: version 0.0.6. TaskJuggler III is a rewrite of TaskJuggler 2.x
that aims to move TaskJuggler into the age of web applications while
not losing it's roots on the command line. This release features the
usual large round of bug fixes and feature enhancements. For the first
time, TaskJuggler comes with a built-in web server that can serve the
HTML reports dynamically to any web browser. To use the web server,
start the TaskJuggler daemon (tj3d) with the -w option. See 'tj3d
--help' and the manual for more details. The full change log can be
found at http://www.taskjuggler.org/tj3/doc/files/CHANGELOG.html.

This release also features a much improved file parser. On average
projects, you should see at least a 50% reduction of your file parsing
time. The scheduler and report generator have not yet been optimized
for speed.

If you are upgrading from an earlier TJ3 release, there are a few
changes, you should be aware of:

* You need to install two additional gems and their dependencies: mail
and open4. Recent Ruby Gem versions do this automatically during the
install.

* The new parser interprets some rare syntax constructs differently.
http://www.taskjuggler.org/tj3/manual/TaskJuggler_2x_Migration.html#TaskJuggler_2x_Migration
explains the details.

* If possible, use a fairly recent version of Ruby 1.9. The 1.9.2
(pre-)releases are good candidates to use. It is possible to use TJ3
with ruby 1.8.6 and later, but the daemon, UTF-8 support and
multi-core support does not work.

To install TaskJuggler 0.0.6, please follow the instructions in the
manual: http://www.taskjuggler.org/tj3/manual/Installation.html#Installation

Bugs should be reported here: http://groups.google.com/group/taskjuggler-bugs

When posting to the TJ mailing list, please send regular emails to the
corresponding list email addresses listed on the page. Try to avoid
using the Google Groups web front-end as it does not support
attachments. Example projects should always be attached and not pasted
into the email to prevent them from getting corrupted by line breaks.
