Hey Frank!

Thanks for getting this back to us so quick. It's definitely a nice high resolution. Can you add in a title and key? Something like this that you do on the Key Messages? and maybe even with a NOAA and or NWS logo?

Good evening WPC SBF/Marc,

Following up on our request via phone, please see this email thread where we are looking for a high resolution Heat Risk graphic for Tuesday July 2nd. Ken Graham will be presenting to POTUS on Tuesday and they want a high res Heat Risk graphic that will be shown on a big screen. A graphic similar to how you are creating Key Messages but we do not need to KM text.

We would like to receive this back within an hour or two if you can so we can ship it back to Bubba Sloan/DCOS.

Thanks!

Shawn Smith

Nice chatting with you just a few minutes ago, Bubba. I am reaching out to WPC to see if they can get us a higher resolution map for Tuesday July 2 than what I can get from a screen snip. Will get back to you later this evening.

Thanks!

Good Afternoon NWSOC,

Please see the email chain below and I'd like to ask for advice on the best way to capture the Heat Risk Tool, in high-resolution, on a slide that can be used as a backdrop.

Thanks,
Bubba

Team,

We need a high res screenshot on a slide of the HeatRisk tool for July 2. NSC wants it by Sunday (tomorrow) morning.

What’s the best way to do this?

Many Thanks,
Shali

Hi Shali,

As a quick follow-up, we can confirm that the speaking order has been locked as follows:

  1. Director Graham
  2. Secretary Mayorkas
  3. Administrator Criswell
  4. Acting Sec Su

Additionally, if you’re able to share any briefing deck you’re putting together by tomorrow night that would be super.

In terms of standalone graphics, can we get by tomorrow morning a few(high-res) options of 1) a HeatRisk Map, and 2) the Hurricane forecast (and any other options you think would be good as back drops). I plan on using the USFS fire outlook as one graphic option as well.

Many thanks and please let me know if you have any questions!

Hi Shali,

Attached is the latest Congressional briefing that USDA/USFS just delivered last week. I’m including the whole thing in case you find any of the other information useful. Also, if you think it would help in terms of content, I am happy to connect you SEPCOR with Christine Dawe, the Senior Advisor in the Under Secretary’s Office at USDA who runs point for their wildfire response policy and operations. Just let me know.

Thanks,

Sash

Thank you and will do, Sash.

Could you also share what USFS provides as a visual on wildfires since NWS Director Graham will be speaking on wildfires during the briefing?

Many Thanks,

Shali

Hi Shali,

Thanks for the chat – so we’re tracking the latest together here:

  1. We’d like for Ken to have some NOAA (or NWS) branded gear on
  2. His time allotment will be a strict 3 mins  - within that time we’d like him to touch on:
    1. An outlook of the extreme weather facing the nation (floods, hurricanes (if we can, it might be good for him to plug the new experimental cone), wildfires, heat)
    2. Talk a little bit about NOAA’s new HeatRisk tool and how it’s helping communities prepare for and respond to extreme heat
  1. After the briefing w/ the other officials, he’ll join everyone in the larger EOC space as the President delivers his remarks

Happy to Cab Affairs to jump in w/ anything I’ve missed – I know there are still some logistical details from ADVON that need to be finalized. We’ll keep in contact over the weekend as the plan gets more stitched together. As I mentioned, if you could also please have a couple (2-4) high-res visuals of heatrisk, hurricane outlook etc, on deck for potential use as digital backdrops that would be great.

Thanks,

Sash
