Hi, I have a Tasker (best app really!) profile that transfers some files to a folder, and once it completes, I need Tasker to launch ES File Explorer directly into this particular folder. Though ES supports folder shortcuts on desktop and AutoShortcut should ideally solve the problem, the issue is that ES only creates shortcuts from within itself, not through the standard shortcut menu.

I have already searched for this before posting this topic, so in case I still missed it, please point me to the right info already available. I even looked at the developer section of EStrongs website, but that wasn't of any help. The closest was this topic in this forum itself, but its for enabling/disabling FTP.

On a related note, is there a way to read the intent directly from an existing shortcut on the desktop (I use Nova Prime launcher)?

I've made the text bold above to quickly simplify what I need. Thank you for any help.

This works for me, though I haven't updated to the new version of ES file explorer with the new UI. Just put the folder path in the data field.

ES Folder
A1: Send Intent [ Action:android.intent.action.VIEW Cat:None Mime Type: Data:/sdcard/Tasker Extra: Extra: Package:com.estrongs.android.pop Class:com.estrongs.android.pop.view.FileExplorerActivity Target:Activity ]

You are too awesome! :)
That worked perfectly with the new ES version. Any chance you could tell me how to find things like these?

Thank you really for the quick help.

What I did was make the shortcut through ES, clicked the shortcut, then looked back in the logcat to see what the intent was when I clicked it. You can filter the logcat by the ActivityManager process.

Thank you again for the info. I've never used Logcat before but after reading your post, I installed CatLog from Play store and did the same steps I was able to find the required details. Though without your help I wouldn't have known which of those values go into which fields in Tasker to make it work right.

Great to learn something new, cheers  :)

Hi everyone,
i´m really surprise with these App, i have installed yesterday and find really great!

But i have a problem with the next Task:
I want to open a specific folder in ES FILE EXPLORER (i´m using it how a music player) whe the headphones are connected.
I can open the program with the "Load Aplication" task but i don´t know how can i open the /sdcard/Music folder.

I don´t know where insert your code...

Maybe is the old version for Tasker and now is other method?

Thank you very much

If that is all you're trying to do with that task, there's an easier way.
Long click folder in ES>More>Desktop shortcut.
