Plug-in App Recommendation - Socket Tool

I have previously mentioned this really great MQTT app/plug-in. It continues to be improved but is really bug-free and full-featured in my experience. Kudos to the developer who deserves more than the 5 stars I can leave on Play Store.

I want to mention here that the same developer has released a new app to provide both TCP and UDP socket support - including a Tasker plug-in. I have mostly been exercising the multicast UDP client side of things (to replace my own, more limited app - now no longer on Play Store due to Google BS) but fiddled a bit with the TCP server side as well. While it is still a new app and undergoing initial development, it has reached the stage where it is quite useful to me and, perhaps to you as well.

Do note that in order to use the Tasker plug-in or some more advanced features, you must purchase VIP level service. It is a 1-time only, $1.99 (in the USA) charge. It is well worth it!

As before, I have no association with the developer other than as a user, tester, and feature suggester. I appreciate that with the new Java support in Tasker, a plug-in MAY not be strictly required to do this work. But why re-invent the wheel when a fine app already exists to do the job?

If you find bugs or have suggestions, it has been my experience that this dev is available, very open to suggestion/input, and quick to implement.

I want to add here that a new version has just been released. It incorporates several of my newer suggestions - including a free, 3-day trial of VIP functionality so you can test Tasker plug-in before buying. The dev also added an HTTP API through which apps can monitor and control the app from anything that can use GET and POST. It was in the original MQTT app and it made sense to add it here as well. Plus the app has scripting capabilities so a whole pile of stuff could be done without any purchase at all.
