Hey guys, is there any way to emulate a double tap on the screen while it is off and unlock it/turn screen on? Like the L2G2 feature...

I think someone just asked this. The problem is going to be the screen typically doesn't detect touch input while off, so you'd have to have the screen on and just showing an all-black scene or something.

No the screen can't detect your finger while the phones in standby/lock mode/switched off to make it detect your finger you need the screen on, So like Matt said you could use an all black scene, and then use the scene to detect your finger and add a tap action to unlock the screen.

I mean, when the screen is on, on the lockscreen. Instead of swiping, double tapping. Is that possible?

If you wanted to do this and your phones Android OS had the ability to set the lock screen to none then this is possible.  Have Tasker monitor screen on and off's and when the screen is turned on have a scene display a box having you double tap to unlock.  Then have the scene go away.  It sounds simple but can be slow and sluggish.  I had some text appear on the lock screen when I unlocked the screen but it would always be delayed and when I unlocked it would go away but take a half second or so (Unless the phone and Tasker was running slow it would take a little longer which got annoying). It also used a lot of memory pushing Tasker to do more, which personally I did not like. I want my Tasker to be more efficient using less memory so I just put what I had into a notification and it works better for my needs.

I personally suggest not doing this as it will be slow and inefficient but if you want to then its your game.  But depending on your phone and access you might not be able to do this in the first place.

What about using widget locker and having a shortcut to unlock the screen.

That would be the way to my knowledge that you could do it, but Jay has a point. Widget locker may work, I would not know I have never used it I am content with my S3's standard lockscreen. I would look into that if I were you because my method is not efficient at all
