I have found that if I display a scene with "Overlay. Blocking" that has a transparent background which includes Text elements, whichever one is at depth 1 will always have a semi-transparent background. It's not a setting of the element itself, because if I change another text element to depth 1, that element will now have a semi-transparent background and the previous element's background is now fully transparent. The only workaround I have found is to put a dummy text element at depth 1 with 0 x 0 dimensions effectively hiding it (actually hiding it doesn't work).  Is this a bug or a feature?

I think depth 1 means the element is BEHIND all other elements.  It sounds like you have an extraneous semi-transparent element on top of your buttons that you need to remove. If you want to have a "background" element, then set the background's depth to 1.   HTH

The scene only has 2 elements so there is nothing extraneous. 2 text elements. Whichever one is depth 1 (in back) takes on a semitransparent background.

Tell me the values of all depths that are listed when you select to change depth.

Are both "buttons" text elements?

Also...did you click "Set as backround" for any element(s)?  If you did I probably can't help you because I don't have any experience doing that.

They aren't "buttons". They're just text and nothing is set to background. There are only 2 elements in an otherwise blank scene with a transparent background.

Okay I'm stumped.
