Custom setting on Oneplus 5 OOS 5.1.5 Android Oreo 8.1

Hi,

I am trying to do a custom setting change specific to Oneplus Oxygen OS. It's called reading_mode_status.

What's happening is I'm getting an error while running the task

Custom Setting: java.util.concurrent.TimeoutException

result: stop task (error)

Error: 1

MacroEdit action finished exeID 1 action no 0 code 235 status: Err next 0

If I run the task with root, the task runs perfectly as it should.

Any help is appreciated.

I'm on tasker v5.4.7.b.

You can also checkout this thread on xda as well as this reddit post, where other users are also having the same issue.

I don't why my reply got deleted. Probably because I linked gycat.

Anyhow, I have attached a video of the exact error.

Also, I don't get an error in other settings which I checked like night mode.

I see. Thanks for the video, that makes it clear. Did you find any other setting that behaved like that? Also, are you able to write that setting?

Thank you. I can only conclude that that ROM has an issue specific to that setting, sorry! I wish I could help but I don't have a OnePlus to test it out myself :(
