I am new to Tasker and Autocast. I have successfully set up a notification from a motion sensor that results in a photo and an audio file being autocasted to my Google Home Hub. However, once the image appears and the audio file plays, the image remains perpetually unless I give the Hub a voice command to cancel. I haven't found the setting in Tasker or Autocast that will allow the casted image to remain on the Hub scree for a specific number of seconds or minutes, then have the Hub return to its normal ambient state.

Can someone advise how to make the casted image expire without my manual intervention?

Thanks.

Hi. Use the AutoCast App action to stop the casting :)

Thank you for your contact.

Thanks for quick reply.

Could you please elaborate, as I can find no setting in Tasker or Autocast, which terminates the casted image. The Timeout setting has no effect, and I can't find another relevant control.

Thanks.

Did you try adding the AutoCast App action in Tasker like mentioned? :)

Please excuse my ignorance, but where do I find Autocast App Action? I can't seem to find it either in my Tasker task configuration or in Autocast itself.

Here's my task:

OK, so now I have three tasks listed:

1) Starting Cast Screen Persistent....
2) Wait 15 Seconds....
3) Stopping Autocast Cast Device....

So I execute the above,  and the image and audio file are correctly sent to my Google Home Hub, the 10 second wait occurs, then the last step executes, but the casted image remains on the screen and a check of the Google Home app confirms that Autocast is still connected and casting to my Home Hub.

Is this just a bug, or is there some other magic?
