Hello all!

I'm trying to make a Tasker profile to keep the screen On while I'm reading something on my phone. And when I put my phone in flat surface (like table) automatically screen off (after 30 seconds left). Like this keep the screen on app. (Yes, this app work fine on my phone).

My phone has an accelerometer and proximity sensors. But Tasker doesn't show this sensor on select sensor state window. How do I utilize the accelerometer sensor. I can use that keep screen ON app, but I think Tasker can do the same thing. So it's wasting my device resource installing addition app.

Thanks!

Activated the accelerometer sensor by navigating Go to Preferences-->Monitoring in Tasker and mark Accelerometer as "Yes". But still Tasker doesn't show accelerometer sensor on "State>Sensor" menu.

You don't access the accelerometer directly. For your profile, use State>Sensor>Orientation.

Accelerometer also in : Event // Sensor
and Gesture or shake
( shake seem good because you can set sensivity and duration ... )

That's a pretty cool App.
If your purpose is to save battery, you might  look closely at how much battery the accelerometer monitoring uses.

It might be tolerable if you use it with display on (which would allow to turn screen off when you set it down).

I wouldn't want to leave accel's running when screen is off. The fact that you went into settings makes me worry that you adjusted your accelerometer monitoring to "yes".  Unless you really really really need that screen to turn on when you pick up the device regardless of battery cost, I would suggest to leave that accelerometer setting to either "no" or "when power connected". You'll still be able to use it with screen on.

I use the app Gravity Screen Off to control when the screen goes on/off (without the motion function, only proximity). I also have an Inactivity Timer profile. When on my home screen and the screen is on, the timer starts. After 20 seconds of inactivity the screen turns off. I also have a shake profile which can become active when the Inactivity Timer profile is running, then it resets the timer. I also have a cooldown period to reduce motion sensor usage. It doesn't use much battery.
