Hi,

I'm trying to use the input tap shell command to control my L020 alarm app.
I have created a task that opens the app, waits for 30 seconds and then it should press a popup button.
I have the right coordinates for the popup button, but the input tap doesn't seem to work.
My device is rooted, the 'use root' is checked.
When I try to run it, sometimes it just says it did the press (even though nothing changed) but sometimes it gives me the error below.
Any ideas?

Sincerely,
Bart

FYI, I tried running 'su input tab x y' and 'input tap x y' with the same result

Is that with su or without (you shouldn't be using su)

It's without su, I removed it and still have the same issue

Is it a older device? Input tap was not available on older android versions.

Oh, and be sure 'use root' is selected in the shell action

Sorry, missed that...

I would try it on a terminal emulator to see If it is on the tasker side or your busy box.  It is a free app on the play store.

I tried the teminal emulator.
when I run `input tap 640 390` it gives me the output `killed`
when I run `su input tap 640 390` it doesn't give an output

That is without su permission.

When you first open the emulator just type su <car ret>

This will give you su permission

Then type in

Input tap 640 390

I didn't get any errors, but the input prompt didn't change. I think something is wrong with my root, some apps see that I'm rooted, others don't :s
Tasker sees I'm rooted because I can choose Dpad under Input while I couldn't select it before when I wasn't rooted
