How do cloud backups across multiple devices work?

I noticed Tasker now has Google Cloud Backup. Great!

Say I turn that on on my phone and tablet, and then later I get a new devices and it restores the data. From which device does it restore the data? Or does it merge them into one (if so, what happens to tasks with duplicate names that are different)?
