Google play, unsigned apk now a issue

Just noticed when trying to upload a apk to google play developer I keep getting an error stating that it isn't a signed apk? Since a few updates of the OS and Tasker it now won't upload a apk. Is this a Tasker issue or have they changed google development and Tasker needs to update the app factory? Any insight would be great appreciated

I was under the impression all APK's had to be signed, always.

You were able to upload an unsigned APK in the past?

I have been uploading the same app just modified a little for the last 6 months but in the last week it won't let me upload the app to the google store. Emailed the creator of Tasker and even they have no idea what the cause is.

I've always used the default signing in Tasker and now it's telling me it's unsigned too. Did you find a solution?

I also tried uploading an old apk that was already successfully published and it's giving me the same message...I guess I could try signing it properly but I doubt it would allow that now.

Nope. Has to use original signing; original signing doesn't work.

Thanks for the tip, have they started requiring this for all APK uploads ?

i don't know actually but it's possible. There was a post on November if I well remember, but I use Android Studio and it applies the new policy automatically, so I've never tried to upload a v1 apk

I signed with V2 scheme but still while uploading to play store it says apk is not signed! It was working perfectly fine with android studio 2.2
