Is there an easy way to change all the IP addresses in tasker at once? I'm using Auto Hue to control my Hue lights and every now and then I have to hard reset my router and then the last number in my IP charges ( XXX.xx.x.2) to ( XXX.xx.x.3). For right now I have to go through each task the uses the IP and use the spy glass top update the IP. Can I use a variable for the IP so I only need to change it in one place?

Thanks for the help.

Sure:
http://tasker.dinglisch.net/userguide/en/variables.html

Disable "Beginner Mode" in Tasker->Preferences->UI. Then you have the additional "Vars" tab in the main screen. Add a new variable for your IP-address. Use at least one upper case character, so the variable is global.

Which address changes after resetting the router, cell phone or hue-controller?

Isn't there any way to set fix IP-addresses or network leases in your router?

Juergen.

Thanks for the information. I think it the hue-controller, because it happens on both my phone and tablet. Also, I am using a dynamic IP address from the server and would like to keep that. I tried setting a variable to %IPADD with my IP address that is picked up by tasker and up the variable in the spot where I'd put the IP numbers, so (xxx.xx.x.3) is not %IPADD and the variable is set under var, but that did not work.

I agree with Juergen,

You might want to setup static IP addresses for these devices on your network or you could also look into DHCP address reservation.
