Galaxy s10e, Android 10.
I have been trying to use Tasker to enable Full screen gestures when I run a particular app. I have granted Tasker permission to write secure settings through ADB. Using the find function, I find two options to switch to Full screen gestures:

'navigation_bar_gesture_while_hidden:' from '1' to '0'

'navigation_mode:' from '3' to '0'

A user on Reddit made me aware of a third option :

navigation_bar_gesture_hint

I have tried all three of these extensively and they don't seem to work. 'navigation_bar_gesture_while_hidden' is indicated by Tasker to be a toggle, so I have tried it both with a toggle setting and with a 1 and 0. I have also tried reversing the values for each option. I also set the trigger as today's date, to be sure that wasn't an issue.

I have the Samsung Good Lock module Navstar installed, which modifies the navigation bar somewhat. I don't know if that might interfere with this.

I also tried all of this with Navstar disabled. I seem to have found that navigation_bar_gesture_while_hidden will SOMETIMES select full screen gestures (as indicated on the settings screen), but the full screen gestures don't actually turn on, the navigation bar is still displayed. If Navstar is enabled, this will disable Navstar though. Unfortunately, I couldn't seem to get the full screen gestures to even be selected on a consistent basis (irrelevant of whether it was actually working). I really don't understand what is happening.

The app already runs in immersive mode, so setting it to immersive mode will not help me. I have a quick setting tile through Shortcutter that will take me to the Full screen gestures setting and a Nova Launcher gesture that will take me to the Full screen gestures, but I would like to have Tasker change the setting automatically. The user on Reddit believes that Samsung may have disabled Tasker's ability to adjust this setting, which he indicates used to work. Can anyone provide me any assistance with this?

I know with android 10 there are a few permissions that you need to have tasker running...
do you have the draw over permission enabled?

allow Tasker to draw over other apps: Open Tasker - Menu - More - Android Settings - Draw Over Other Apps and enable the permission.

Thanks for your reply. I checked and I have all Tasker permissions enabled, including draw over other apps, so that is not the issue.

After performing a bunch more testing on this, I have now confirmed that 'navigation_bar_gesture_while_hidden:' from '1' to '0' will select full screen gestures in the settings menu, but full screen gestures does not activate. The other three possible methods don't seem to do anything. Very strange.
