I'm getting the No active profiles message.  I have 5 profiles defined and on. The tasker profile shows as enabled and one of the profiles is working fine (a simple one to issue a notification every 2 minutes).

Three of them are Event profiles using an MQTT Client plugin.

I've enabled the Run Log and I see the Status Instant on the 2 minute message events but I still get the No active profiles event and I never receive the MQTT events.

I assume you are talking about the message in the Tasker notification.

This is just letting you know none of your enabled profiles is currently running. It is purely informational.

Event profiles will never show in the notification because they have no duration.

I'm referring to the android notification that Tasker generates.  It's always in my phone notification bar at the top.  It will not go away.

By default, Tasker is run as a foreground app, even when it is in the background. This is to increase reliability. Android requires that apps running constantly in the foreground display a notification.

If it bothers you, there are a couple of  things you can do:
  1. On Android 6+, you can hide the notification. How you do this depends on your phone and Android version. You should be able to find instructions on the web.
  2. You could also disable the Run in Foreground option in the Tasker settings. Be aware that this may reduce reliability.
