Does anyone actually know who is behind this company? Where it is located? Address?

I noticed the author is making quite an effort hiding identity by even using a private registrar that hides information about the companies domain dinglisch.net

With all the permissions Tasker has, I'm starting to feel a bit uneasy.

Thanks.

Does anyone actually know who is behind this company?

Me.

Where it is located?

Germany.

Address?

I don't like handing out my address to all the internet loonies
annoyed about some part of some product I might create.

With all the permissions Tasker has, I'm starting to feel a bit uneasy.

Yeah, it's a shame Google can't come up with a permissions system where
they're approved dynamically, would help profiling apps get more sales.

I have used Tasker for the past year. I have been using this group for nearly as long. Based on my experience with this group and on the posts from Pent, I can say, that his dedication and support for both Tasker and its users is beyond reproach. There is no developer, that I would trust more.

You need to consider the complexity of keeping Tasker working with the never ending changes to the android operating system while maintaining backwards compatability. He can't do everything immediately. Pent never said he would not address the problem. He simply indicated that it wasn't his top priority because the number of users affect were small.

In my eyes it's primarily a shame Google does not force App developers/companies to publish their legal (and verified) addresses. As customers we have the right to get this information, if you like it or not. At least in most parts of the world.

To insinuate your customers are "internet looneys" seems weird. You on the other hand are violating german law by not providing required information about your company on your website. You know that, don't you?

So in fact we're being asked to trust someone who does not abide the law of the country he lives in!?

Play fair and publish the required information!

Max B-Dot,

Uninstall tasker, ask for your money back, and move on. No one is asking you to trust tasker. You know what permissions tasker requires, and you have an explanation as to why these permissions are needed.

I can't speak to alleged violations of the laws of Germany, but I can say that I no doubts about Pent's trustworthiness.  As for rights, you have the right to not purchase apps from developers you find questionable.

To insinuate your customers are "internet looneys" seems weird.

To insinuate that I insinuated that all my customers are such seems a bit desperate.

What does seem weird is your sudden fixation.

No, I don't know that.

No, I'm not interested in reading any links you might have found on the subject.

Locking thread before I say something I regret.
