OpenVPN connection toggles WIFI state

Hi everybody,

I´m running into a problem I cannot solve myself using Tasker 5.0u3m on Samsung Galaxy S7 running Android 7.0 (SDK24)

Simple situation to show the problem.

Create a profile "WIFI connected" In my case I added the SID to specify a special network...

Add a task to this profile simply showing a notification "WIFI connected now"

Add an exit task to this profile showing another notification "WIFI disconnected now".

This works fine as expected.

Now, connect to the WIFI above and wait for the notification. Next start a OpenVPN client (I tried three different) and establish a OpenVPN connection to your OpenVPN Server. 

Right after the connection gets established I got a notification "WIFI disconnected now" from my created profile!

As I would like to use OpenVPN automatically if connected to named WIFI networks and disconnect the VPN connection automatically fater leaving the WIFI this does not work as long as the WIFI disconnected state gets launched by tasker right after VPN connection gets established...

Any ideas what´s going wrong here and how to get this fixed?

Btw: I used a similar setup running Android 6 without problems.

In the "Wifi connected" state edit form, set "Active" to "any".

When VPN has established connection, it become the "active" network, WIFI stays connected but not "active".
