How to delete Tasker VARS contain variables?

I have lots of unwanted local variables on Tasker VARS window. How do I completely remove?

Ensure that no profiles/tasks/actions/scenes refer to them specific variables. if they remain after thet, then long click the variable name in the variables window and select "clear". this will empty its contents and remove the variable completely as long as no profiles/tasks/actions/scenes refer to them.

You can use Taskers "Filter" function to search for profiles/tasks/actions/scenes which contain your variable. just type your variable into the filter.

There's also a Menu option to clear all / select all, and if on 4.0+ you can multi-select.

I have a variable that i created by a set variable task.  I saw later that it was a typo, so I changed the variable.  I still have the original variable with the typ on the variable listing.  I long press it and I get only a Select all in the menu.  No way to clear it or delete it.  It is in a project.  I know for sure that it is not used for ANYTHING.  I have re-started tasker and cleared data.  Still not able to delete the variable from the VARS list.

If you don't get a 'Clear', it's defined in your data somewhere, search for it with Menu / Search Tasker (or the magnifying glass bottom
of main screen if in beginner mode)
