Can Tasker *trigger* an NFC tag?

I know an NFC tag can trigger Tasker actions, but can Tasker trigger an NFC tag to make another app do something?

Goal
I want to create a Tasker "local end point" that I can use to trigger an NFC tag (as if my phone was set on the NFC tag) so that another app (Broadlink RM4 Prog) will take the actions triggered by the NFC tag.

Then I could have my Hubitat hit the local end point, and through Tasker & NFC, trigger Broadlink actions.

I am currently using IFTTT to accomplish the goal, runs way too slow since it isn't local.  In addition, the Broadlink plug-in for Tasker doesn't seem to work with the newer RM4 Pro.

Broadlink just added NFC tag triggers, but I asked Broadlink Support to add local end points, but they said no one would use that functionality.

Thanks.

Tasker can write something to an NFC tag: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PMbj7bRoSKI

Maybe that helps?

Thanks but no.

I need Tasker to tell my phone that it was just set on an NFC tag, even though it wasn't.

When I set my phone on the NFC tag, it triggers Broadlink to do an action.
I want Tasker to trigger that same action by tricking my phone to think it was set down on the NFC tag.

Thanks again.

Oh, I see what you mean now. Unfortunately Tasker can't trigger that. As far as I know only system apps can trigger that intent, sorry!

And Tasker can't do it even if I root my phone and give Tasker full access to everything?

(I have an old phone that I could root and let it control this process.)

Thanks.

Then it probably could with a shell command but I don't know what that command would be, sorry!

Why can't you trigger that task directly or with a different trigger (i.e. a screen shortcut)? Why the NFC intermediate?

Okay, long story...

I'm trying to get my Hubitat to trigger a scene on my Broadlink RM4 Pro.
Currently, my Hubitat hits IFTTT and IFTTT triggers the scene on RM4.  It works to control RF and IR devices using Hubitat.
The problem is IFTTT *really* slows things down, so I'm trying to keep it local.  Nothing like hitting "turn on the light" and waiting for a full 10-15 seconds for it to turn on.
I tried NodeRed and I can make it work with IR devices but it doesn't work with RF devices on my (newer) RM4s.
I tried the Broadlink Tasker plug-in, but my (newer) RM4s weren't recognized by the Tasker Broadlink plug-in.

I thought it was good news when recently, RM4 added NFC triggers to scenes.
My thought was have my Hubitat hit a local end point that is a Tasker local end point.  Then have Tasker trigger the NFC tag that then triggers the scene on the RM4.
I could keep all that local by having Tasker running on my PC at home in something like BlueStacks Android emulator.
(Unfortunately, RM4 support said they weren't going to add local end points to scenes because no one would use them.  Argh!)

Sounds like none of that is possible and I'm stuck with IFTTT.

Do you have any Android device always sitting in the house?
I have an Nvidia Shield TV (Android TV) running RM bridge. Yes, the commands have to be re-learned separately from the Broadlink app, but with some REST calls, I can trigger all my devices in a matter of 1-2 seconds, both RF and IR.
I never worked with Hubitat, but I am pretty sure it has REST calls...
I hope it helps.

Later edit: I'm not 100% sure, but by the info presented here, the codes learned with the Android app might work independent of the said app.

Thanks for that Daniel.

I'll give that a try, but I'm not optimistic.

I think Broadlink has been limiting its interfaces.  The RM Bridge says it works with RM1 and RM2, and there is a work-around for RM3.  No mention of more newer RM4 Pro.

But, I'll give that a try.
