I know Tasker can monitor an individual file change. But is there any way to do the same for a directory and/or subdirectory?
I poked around and the best I saw was looking for a file to be created such as a image from the camera. Really didn't suit my needs.
Thanks for any help!
Dave
I didn't believe it either (from documentation) until I checked. In the context, instead of selecting a file, just select a folder (which android treats as a type of file) and it'll work.
The profile will activate when a file in the folder or the folder is modified.
Try it out. Post back any questions.
Hope this helps.
Do I need a wildcard or just the folder name?
/sdcard/folder/ (possible with no end slash?)
Or
/sdcard/folder/*
Thanks Brandon!

If I remember right, long pressing a directory itself will autofill that as the context correctly. Otherwise, pressing a folder navigates into contents, and pressing a file selects contents as context. The long press of the folder was how I stumbled across it... if I recall.
Yep, got it!
Don't mind making these little backup tasks but I hate the ones that store the backup within the app itself. 😶
I don't think the wild card is needed. When you're in the context, select the magnifying glass and navigate to the directory desired.
