How to change font size for "Icon and Text Menu" menu items?

I have cloned the original "Icon and Text Menu" to test some stuff, but I can't figure out how to

• change the menu item font size
• change the font position
• change the text field length

I am able to change the text size for the menu header, but that it. Help?

In the scene editor it looks like this. Notice that the word "Example" is not in the middle and is cut at the bottom.:

Click the Menu element in the Icon And Text clone scene, click Item
Layout, resize however you like, click the magnifying glass to change
the element size and configuration.

Scene-within-a-scene-element takes a conceptual jump I know.

I've just been trying this but it just doesn't work! The text align only works properly on the top item. The others won't display correctly. The text align will change which side the writing sits but I can't change the vertical positioning of text.
