I've found that when I use the media keys on a bluetooth headset or my car's stereo often they will fail to work or the command will be interpreted by the wrong app. I think it's because there may be multiple apps that register AVRCP commands (even if they aren't used in some of them) and with the music app playing in the background the commands don't get to the right app.

Is there any way in Tasker to force AVRCP commands to be sent to a specific app rather than have Android (incorrectly) determine which app should receive them?

Thanks!

I'm experiencing the same problem here. Have you made any progress in figuring this out?

I've been looking at this for months.  I simply wanted my phone to announce "Bluetooth connected" and then begin playing random songs from my collection.

To date, I have been unsuccessful.  Each time I try a new combination of profiles, tasks and actions, the bluetooth handshake is different.  I've tried intercepting buttons, using AutoInput, counting button presses and many others methods.  All have failed.

I have read the bluetooth headset and AVRCP specs and now I'm thinking Tasker, my car or both are not performing bluetooth handshakes correctly and/or in a timely manner.  It's difficult to say since so much of the bluetooth handshaking is 'under the hood'.

Sorry, I have no answers but I share your pain.
