Hi
I use Tasker to automatically write my working hours. I have a profile
"AtWork", while entering to the profile adds a line with the date and
time. Exit task writes additional line with the date and time. Till
that point, all ok and Tasker works great. I've added the file to
Dropbox so I can track the file on my laptop. For some reason, the
file is not uploaded to Dropbox after it is updated by Tasker. The
workaround is to open the file in my smartphone using text editor and
save the file. So the problem is that Tasker doesn't trigger Dropbox
while the file is changed.
I use the File -> Write File Action to do it.
Any ideas what is the problem? Is it a bug in Tasker?

If the file is written as requested by the action, it's not likely a
bug in Tasker.
Maybe dropbox is registed for a 'file created' signal from the OS
rather than
a 'file modified' (which is what Tasker is doing, just adding a line).
In which
case you could write to another file somewhere instead and then copy
it across to the dropbox folder with Tasker.

Alternatively try an SD card scan to get the OSs attention ?

(Tasker media category I think)

Hi Pent
It looks like Dropbox issue. I open Dropbox and see old date of the
file although using Astro I can see that the file date is newer. Only
when opening the file from Dropbox and saving, the file is updated.
I've tried the SD scan but it didn't help.

Dropbox for Android doesn't work like the version on pc, it doesn't
automatically sync...
There is however DropSpace with a Tasker plugin which you can use in
your case, should work fine
on task exit add a plugin action to sync..

I've been waiting for them to release an API for that for nearly a
year.
